Last Trick @ Stowe Mountain Memorial Day Weekend

May 29th, 2010 ~ Stowe, VT ~

Next season is over 168 days away. That’s a long time to wait for anyone who loves the snow. This is why every year for the past half dozen or so, Stowe Mountain Resort has hosted the ‘Last Trick’ Rail Jam on Memorial Day weekend. All are welcome to the free event, where the cool kids keep cool for one last hurrah.

A giant pile of snow (formerly the halfpipe), provides the venue for Stowe’s park crew to set up the rails, boxes and jumps for one more jam session. This event is open to all skiers, snowboarders and spectators. Music will be provided by Lotus Entertainment and there will be a bounty of prizes and giveaways for participants. Bring friends, summer attire, sunscreen and lawn chairs – it’s always a good time.

Date: Saturday, May 29th
Time: 11am to 2pm
Place: Stowe Mountain Resort / Mt. Mansfield / Lower Standard Trail / Halfpipe Location
Parking: Mansfield Base Lodge
Why: You have two dozen Saturdays coming up where playing on snow won’t be an option!

Peace Pipe Jam 3, Memorial Day Weekend

(taken from Mt.Snow website)

For the third year in a row our park crew will be piling snow at the bottom of Carinthia and will lay out some new features on Memorial Day weekend for everyone to play on. This is a free event with music, BBQ and a chill atmosphere to get your last on snow session in for the season. Who knows what sick setup Gaitor and crew will come up with for this years jam, the only way to find out is to be there.

Those who wish to play need to sign a waiver before hitting the snow. Download the waiver here.

Of course one day of May jibbing isn’t enough, Mount Snow and Stratton have teamed up to give you an entire weekend of madness. 2 events, 1 weekend and only 20 miles apart! On Sunday head up to Stratton for their Mountain Mayhem Freestyle Mash Up. The event starts at 10am at Sun Bowl and is $20 to register. Look for live music with DJ Joe Bell, cash prizes and free swag.

Five Ws with Lizard King

(Taken from Supra’s Blog)

Who? What? When? Where? Why? With Lizard?

WHO’s got better kickflips? You or Nuge?

Well if you watch footage I think Nuge has kickflipped bigger shit. Having said that mine are the best! Ha ha.

WHAT’s the best way to pass the time when your foot is hurt and you can’t skate?

Go buy a flat screen TV, Xbox, and start fucking gaming. It’s the only way to go, Oh, that or go to Australia and get yourself a lovely mermaid, then just chill.

WHEN is the best time to put the passion in the air and let it loose?

Never a bad time to do that! People need to get the passion or you’ll die for real, so just put it in the air and let that shit loose.

WHERE the hell did you find Jimmy Passion? (Lizard’s dead badger keychain)

NPS. It’s a weird store in Utah, A.K.A. the greatest place on earth. Just saw him had to have him.

WHY is Utah the shit?

Just feel like thats where my passion came from you know? There’s mountains close, tons of cool people, good friends, and the skating is ridiculous. Plus the family PASSION is there!

Jason is grinning because he just got the last NOTB deck.

Progress on the New Salem Skate Park

It has been a while since anybody has mentioned the Salem Skate Park, but I just got a new picture today of the progress on it. It more of park then a skate park in the picture, but it is a huge step forward on getting this project done. The next phase is moving the ramps and rails in, which have been in storage since the beginning.  It should defiantly be done by the time school get outs for the summer. For those that don't know where it is located, it is going in over at Hedgehog Pond Park in Salem, NH. Stay tuned for more updates and new pictures.
